SPARK CREATIVITY CAMPS BY WEEK

Mon, Aug 3 - Fri, Aug 7

Storybook STEAM Studio (TK-2nd) & Design/Making Studio (3rd-9TH)

Storybook STEAM Studio (TK-2nd):
This is a creative camp where books inspire hands-on making and big ideas. This week brings beloved picture books such as The Beautiful Oops, Rosie Revere, Engineer, The Lorax, The World Is Not a Rectangle, and Iggy Peck, Architect to life through age-appropriate STEAM projects. Campers will explore themes of creativity, problem-solving, environmental care, and design as they turn stories into imaginative, hands-on creations.

Each day combines storytelling, discussion, and playful making as students build, design, and experiment using a variety of materials and techniques. Projects are designed to encourage curiosity, resilience, and creative confidence—celebrating mistakes as opportunities and ideas as starting points.

Design & Making Studio (3rd-9th):
Explore the intersection of creativity, design, and hands-on making. Throughout the week, campers will learn core design principles—such as balance, form, texture, and function—and apply them to the creation of three-dimensional objects designed for their personal space. This studio-style camp encourages students to think like designers as they plan, build, and refine meaningful, functional art.

Projects may include creating an artistic light fixture, a mixed-media hanging mobile, a papier-mâché sculpture, and a wall weaving, using a variety of materials and techniques. Campers will experiment, problem-solve, and make intentional design choices as they bring their ideas to life.
