The Art of Video Games (3rd-9th)

Level up your creativity at The Art of Video Games, a project-based STEAM camp inspired by some of the most iconic video game worlds of all time. Designed for students in grades 3rd–9th, this immersive week invites campers to explore the creative universe of video games—including Super Mario Bros., Pokémon, Kirby, The Legend of Zelda, Tetris, Splatoon, and Donkey Kong—through hands-on art, design, and maker-based projects. Using a variety of craft supplies and maker materials, students will reimagine characters, environments, puzzles, and gameplay elements while discovering how art, engineering, logic, and storytelling come together in game design.

Throughout the week, campers will work individually and collaboratively on creative challenges inspired by video games and their music, strengthening problem-solving skills, design thinking, and artistic expression. Projects may include character and world designs, pattern- and puzzle-based builds inspired by Tetris, interactive art, and visual creations influenced by game soundtracks and aesthetics. The camp concludes with a Friday Showcase, where families are invited to experience a gallery-style display of student work and celebrate the creativity and innovation developed throughout the week.
